Edmund began his legal career at Drew & Napier LLC and became the Managing Partner of Braddell Brothers in September 2009.
He has over 17 years of experience in dispute resolution and arbitration.
As litigation counsel, Edmund is actively engaged in trial and appellate advocacy at all levels of the Singapore Courts, predominantly in the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has also been instructed by other solicitors to act as Counsel. Edmund has argued against a variety of Senior Counsel in trials and other hearings, and against Queen's Counsel, successfully, in an appeal before the Singapore High Court in July 2012. Edmund is privileged to be an invited Honorary Overseas Member of both COMBAR (Commercial Bar Association), England and the Chancery Bar Association, England.
Since 2010, Edmund has been instructed on no less than 7 Worldwide Mareva Injunctions / Freezing Injunctions with a combined value of approx. USD 1 billion.
As arbitration counsel, Edmund represents clients in international arbitrations predominantly under the SIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb), Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb), Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ), Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIArb) and the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb).
Edmund also sits as an Arbitrator. He is admitted to the arbitrators' panels / lists of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia / Indonesian National Board of Arbitration (BANI), Thai Arbitration Institute (TAI), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Chinese Arbitration Association, Taipei, Taiwan (CAA), the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) and the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM).

Outside work, Edmund has taught 2nd-year undergraduates trial advocacy and cross-examination techniques in the Trial Advocacy programme run by the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS) since 1998, having earlier won the Drew & Napier Advocacy Cup himself, in 1994. In 2007 and 2008, he also gave guest lectures on Cross-Examination at the NUS Faculty of Law. He has also assisted in judging moots for 2nd-year undergraduates at the Singapore Management University (SMU) School of Law, being a former Phillip C Jessup International Moot Court competitor himself, in 1995.
Edmund is also a tutor in Advocacy and International Arbitration at the Singapore Board of Legal Education's annual Part B Course for law graduates seeking admission to the Singapore Bar. He has also lectured at the DUKE-NUS Medical School since 2009 and is frequently invited to speak on medical law issues, as well as on civil and commercial litigation and arbitration. He is also a CIArb-accredited tutor in international arbitration, and has taught in arbitration courses in Singapore and Phnom Penh in 2013 and 2014. Edmund also lectured at the Singapore Arbitration Academy in 2013.
Edmund currently serves on the Civil Practice, Electronic Litigation and Information Technology Committees of the Law Society of Singapore. He is also a member of the Electronic Litigation System Committee, LAWNET Management Committee and Legal Heritage Committee of the Singapore Academy of Law.
