Baker & McKenzie Names New Global Leader for International Arbitration Group

Baker & McKenzie is pleased to announce that Chan Leng Sun, SC has been appointed Chair of the Firm's Global International Arbitration practice group (effective October 2015).
Leng Sun takes over as global chair from co-leaders Grant Hanessian (New York) and Guenter Pickrahn (Frankfurt), both of whom have held this position since 2009.

Leng Sun is a seasoned leader whose strong reputation and profile support our strategy of having the highest level of talent in the key arbitration centers around the world."
Grant and Guenter remain on the Firm's Global International Arbitration Steering Committee. Grant has recently been appointed  US Alternate Member on  the ICC Court of International Arbitration in Paris and will remain head of the  North American International Arbitration Practice. Guenter continues to serve on the EMEA Steering Committee for DR as well as the Head of the Germany/Austria disputes practice.
Leng Sun has served as head of the Dispute Resolution practice of Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow in Singapore as well as the Asia Pacific lead for International Arbitration.
He is qualified in Malaysia, Singapore and England. Leng Sun was appointed Senior Counsel, Singapore's equivalent to the Queen's Counsel, in January 2011. Apart from being counsel, he is a Chartered Arbitrator and is on the panel of leading arbitral institutions.
Leng Sun serves as Chairperson of the arbitration panel jointly appointed by the EU and Korea under the protocol on cultural cooperation of the Korea-EU FTA and the President of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb).
