Asia - Skadden Strengthens Investment Management Practice With Addition Of Geoffrey Chan

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP have announce that recognized investment management attorney Geoffrey Chan has joined the firm as a partner to lead its Asia Pacific Investment Management practice. He is based in the Skadden's Hong Kong office.
 
Mr. Chan, previously a partner and head of the Asia Private Investment Funds practice at another global law firm, focuses on the formation and structuring of Asia-based U.S. dollar-denominated private investment funds, particularly in Greater China. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, he regularly represents sponsors and investors of a wide variety of fund types, ranging from private equity and venture capital to co-investment and real estate funds. Mr. Chan advises on issues including fundraising and holding company structuring, as well as internal fund issues and investment activities.

Prior to attending law school, he was an investment banker and financial analyst at a major global investment bank. Mr. Chan is a member of the New York bar and a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong. He received his J.D. degree from Stanford Law School in 2004 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto in 1998.
