Paul is a corporate partner specialising in providing corporate finance, general corporate and investment funds related advice to a diverse range of clients including Hong Kong listed and private companies, as well as international corporations and fund managers. His broad experience in Hong Kong, PRC and the Asia region focuses on mergers and acquisitions, with substantial experience of cross-border M&A (both equity and assets) and related due diligence; corporate finance; joint ventures and inward investment into the PRC; the structuring and formation of investment funds, and advising GPs and managers on follow on investments; general corporate and commercial advice, including corporate governance advice; venture capital investments; insolvency related restructurings and sports events and sponsorship.
Paul gained his law degree from Kingston University, London and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1987 and Hong Kong in 1991. Paul has lectured on company law at the University of Hong Kong and has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on topics such as private equity transactions, restructurings, directors' duties and liabilities and due diligence. Paul is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

- Advised Lai Sun Development Company Limited and its direct wholly-owned subsidiary, Lai Sun International Finance (2012) Limited on the issue of US$350 million of 5.70 per cent guaranteed notes due in 2018.
- Acting for Equinix, the US listed data centre provider, on its US$200 million acquisition of the Asia Tone business in Hong Kong Kong, the PRC and Singapore.
- Advising for Titron Holdings on the sale of a group of companies engaged in manufacturing to AMCO United Holding Limited (a company listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange) involving major and connected transactions.
- Advising for EFG on the formation of China focused PE fund (master/feeder structure) and subsequent pre-IPO investments.
- Advising a major retail and commercial bank on its multi-million dollar project of banking application software for its core banking system, which involved the drafting and negotiating of a software procurement and developing agreement, a software licence agreement and a source code deposit agreement.
- Advising a WFOE involved in the logistics business on the sale of its world class logistic facility, located in Shenzhen, back to the Government as part of a Government-initiated infrastructure project.
- Advising the shareholder of the operator of the Ngong Ping 360 cable car tourist attraction on the high- profile takeover of the management of the operator by the MTR Corporation.
