The firm has a long history of acting as a gateway between East and West since 1867 when the firm’s founder William Harwood started practising in Shanghai. We have lawyers qualified to practise in Hong Kong, England, Malaysia, New Zealand, PRC, Singapore and Australia, and many of them are fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and other Chinese dialects. Our lawyers and legal assistants are also familiar with law and practice in mainland China, and experienced in handling general corporate and commercial matters, mergers and acquisitions, local and overseas listings, real estate and employment matters in relation to investment in the Asia region, as well as a wide range of litigation and intellectual property issues.

Stephenson Harwood has entered into a formal association with Wei Tu, a PRC law firm based in Guangzhou, China established in 2014. Wei Tu is licensed to provide a full range of legal services under PRC law. This association of Stephenson Harwood and Wei Tu provides clients with access to a blend of high quality international and PRC law expertise for issues in China.
Stephenson Harwood LLP is a member of the Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance, a formal law alliance with Virtus Law LLP. The Alliance enables us to offer clients an integrated service in multi-jurisdictional matters as well as matters involving permitted areas of Singapore law.
